YESSSSS!

I just bought a pair of size 6 pants! Oh glory, size 6! THAT's a number I never EVER thought I would see again!
And, I have maintained current weight for almost 3 months, which is a record for me.
Sometimes I worry that my family and friends might be just a little sick of me and all my weight-loss chatter. But. I have worked SO HARD for this - and this whole maintenance thing...well, let's just say that some days it nearly kills me. So, I'm sorry, guys. I kind of have to be annoyingly hyper-focused right now. Someday, this won't be such a huge deal (hopefully) and I will go back to thinking and talking about regular things like politics and household organization. And recipes. All, while still wearing that size 6.

Reality Check

Well, it's true.
The older your kids get, the more complicated their problems get.
And more insight and inspiration are required to direct them along the right path.
And they remember EVERYTHING you say, even (and especially!!) if it was done in frustration and anger.
And they throw it back at you at the most inopportune times.
Sigh.
I yearn for those potty training years....

Holy New Year's Eve!!!

Sam, Sophie, Chad, and I spent New Year's Eve with some friends. It was a crazy good time! You can tell by the mess of confetti and streamers all over the Weymouth's floor. The kids had a blast and I didn't have to clean. Love it!

For my kids: I am now going to embarrass myself for the sake of family history.

Christmas Eve Pajamas

Imagine my surprise when Megan handed me a box to open on Christmas Eve. I got some jammies of my own! And they are very comfy!

Proof that I do fun things with my kids

During Christmas Vacation, I took the kids ice skating at the local rink. AND, I let them each bring a friend (Poor Adam. His friend didn't get the call in time. He had a blast anyway). I skated with them but we had to go home when the little girls started whining about the cold, and I got cocky skating backwards and doing turns. I fell and hit my head on the ice so hard that I passed out momentarily. Next time, I will just watch.
